so the dogs and i are enjoying a lazy, chilly saturday at home and carly can’t find a seat on the couch. i happen to be sitting on her favorite chair with my computer (and wilson) so she’s kind of out of luck. the video below is her reaction to the predicament. i should state that 93.75% of our dogs inherently know not to get on tables…the other 6.25% is carly and her very soft brain. normally she would be told to get down but i figured i’d see...

about 5 years ago today this fantastic specimen arrived on this earth to spread his joy and phatitude. my scientific equation for figuring out birth days is as follows: date of dog's arrival in colella household - approximate age = exact colella birthday. this equation works unless the exact colella birthday falls around a holiday and then exact colella birthday moves to holiday...with 16 dogs any help with remembering a day is much needed. so now you know and you can...

years ago dave & i used to play tennis fairly regularly until my bad shoulder became my worse shoulder and we hung up our racquets. lately, because i’ve gotten my shoulder in better shape, i’ve been thinking of trying to play again. we decided to buy some balls, dust off the racquets (seriously, dave’s required a hosing) and try hitting a few balls in the driveway just to see how it felt. because we tend to do things in a “different” (moronic...

speck's been having a problem hitting her mark (the mark being her food bowl) lately. her rotund body and short legs do not work aerodynamically in her favor and her braking ability is severely limited by her girth. what she is immensely successful at is making us laugh. she's our little rodeo clown parodying a cattle dog.

so murray's getting up there in years - his hearing is all but gone and he walks like he's been through the desert on a horse with no name but man, oh man he can chew a bone with the best of 'em. i've said it before but i'll say it again - this dog kills me...i adore him.

i apologize in advance for what is about to be a personal post but i’ve got a forum and i’m using it. today is a big day in the history of my life – fifteen years ago dave & i entered into our life together. when i think back fifteen years and wonder if i could have imagined what our life together would become the answer is a resounding “no.” were i able to imagine this life i would have wanted to get right to it and that would have yielded a different result....

our life seems to move pretty fast and there's usually a lot to be accomplished on any given day. our nights fill up pretty quickly as well, what with dave's band practices, errands, grocery shopping, hanging out with friends & family, and appointments. this week we had a bunch of errands to do and last night was the only night we had available so we planned to go out after we finished work and fed the dogs. easy breezy covergirl, right…um, actually wrong…our little fletcher...
