Earth Dog collars look great and are well made. Another big advantage of hemp is that it does not hold odors like nylon. Martingale collars are my favorite walking and training collars. Martingale collars are great collars for securely controlling your dog. (Not choking them) There are no buckles to break. When fitted properly it prevents the dog from backing out of the collar. For most dogs a proper fit is when the leash is tightened and the two metal rings touch and not constrict on the dogs neck while still leaving room for you to place two fingers under the collar. It should be fitted just tight enough that the dog cannot back out of it. Once the collar is fitted correctly it should slip over the head easily without the need to loosen. Martingales collars should not be left on unsupervised dogs. Instead use a standard buckle collar like the Earth Dog adjustable collars. Teach your dog to walk nicely and not pull on even if there is a squirrel, cat, anther dog, etc... My favorite technique that I use is this: https://youtu.be/ZkMYHuG1PEg

This is our 3rd EarthDog solid hemp collar/leash combo, not because it isn't lasting, but because we play hard! We have 2 sets right now, which get dirty fast, the way we play, so they have been washed every week for 3 years, and they are holding up great. They really do get softer over time! We just got a beach pass, so our collars and leashes are getting sandy quick, so we're ordering a third so our pup can have a dry "change of clothes" ready after beach time. We switched over to EarthDog when our previous collar got misshapen after just a couple of weeks of use. I found EarthDog, because I specifically wanted hemp, if I could find it, and there it was! Not only are we dog lovers, but we're Earth lovers, so it's a match made in heaven. I also ordered a keychain this time, just so I could have some EarthDog of my own.

My border collie mix backs out of regular collars, so my vet suggested martingale. This is the most inexpensive, longest lasting martingale. Survived a rottweiler and a pibble puppy using it to pull my bc around. And gets softer after washing! In a regular washing machine!!!! Love these collars and love this company!!!!

Its really soft, and fits better on my 15lb dogs than any other collar ive purchased! Plus its beautiful!!

My dog has very itchy, irritated skin on her neck, so I thought that switching to a collar made of hypoallergenic material would help. Although she is still itchy, the skin isn’t as red or scabby. I love that this collar is machine washable and doesn’t affect the quality. The bright pink color is so cute! I would definitely buy again
